These may not be the flashiest of places and they certainly aren’t your trendy little boutique restaurants… some aren’t even dine-in, but if you’re looking for good value and scrumptious food fast then we can help. Sitar Indian Restaurant
There is no doubt about it, this restaurant has many, many rave reviews! It is a small unassuming little shop on the main street of Victor Harbor with just a few dine in tables out the front and no EFTPOS. It doesn’t have a website, nor a Facebook page and no menu online either BUT, it is by far my favourite on the list! The food is incredible and cooked to perfection. The meat (if you’re a meat eater) dissolves in your mouth and the serves are huge! One serve eaten with an accompaniment (we highly recommend the Bhatoora bread – fluffy deep-fried leavened bread from North India) usually lasts 2 meals. If you like it HOT, then you must try any of their Tindaloo’s, they will knock your socks off! Quite often Tindaloo’s are omitted from menusof restaurants are regarded as too spicy for the majority of diners but Sitar is authentic all the way and include Tindaloo and Vindaloo meals on their menu. Mouth-watering authentic North Indian cuisine with unbelievably tender meat, many vegetarian options,very generous serves and always ready in under 15 minutes! What more could you want?

Sushi Izu
When I think of Sushi Izu, all I can think of is FRESH, FRESH, FRESH!
This store prepares hybrid style sushi (traditional recipes with a contemporary twist) which is made right in front of you with incredibly fresh and healthy ingredients. You can choose from freshly made rolls or choose your own ingredients and have one of the always smiling chefs make it for you. I love this place because it’s rare to find convenient take away food which is so fresh and healthy for you. We’ve all had those days where we just can’t face going home at the end of the day to cook, well Sushi Izu has rescued me many times and I actually felt good about eating it, unlike many of the other options available! We recommend the Vegetable mix summer roll, or if you’d prefer something with a bit more punch you can’t go past the crunchy tempura prawn hybrid roll! Easy, fresh, healthy, nearly always open and cheap! Need I say more?

Loco Mexican Restaurant
Loco Mexican is a relatively new restaurant in Victor harbor and has become an instant success! This is another restaurant with fabulous reviews and after tasting the fresh vibrant Mexican food, you will understand why!Loco Mexican provides a dine in experience as well as a take away menu. I could fill an entire page with reasons to dine in at this restaurant but take-away is the topic and I guarantee you won’t be disappointed. The servings are massive, so even the hungriest family member will be satisfied and the food is incredibly tasty. If you can’t decide on what to order, you just can’t go past any of the Locos Burrito’s and you have got to try the Mexican corn!

Noodle Bento
Another surprising little gem, is Noodle Bento! It sits quietly on an outer corner of the Victor Harbor Shopping Complex and can easily be missed as it is nothing much to look at on the outside. There are a few tables and chairs to sit at just inside the door if you want to dine in but most people use them to wait for their take-away meals to be prepared. Noodle Bento prepare a mixture of Asian cuisineserved with noodles or rice, sushi rolls and some dishes from Europe. Once again, the serves are huge and your likely to be having leftovers the next day. What set this place apart from other similar noodle bars is the factthat they cook the food from fresh ingredients, right in front of you and it is fast, not to mention very tasty!

Beach House Café
For all the pizza lovers out there! If you’re bored with the same ol’, same ol’ when it comes to pizzas, then we know The Beach House Café will renew your faith in the art of pizza making. With a repertoire including the Tandoori Lamb pizza and the very unique ‘Shark Alley’ pizza, (both of which they received awards for at the 2014 Global Pizza & Pasta Challenge Australian finals) and if pizza is what your craving then we highly recommend trying a pizza made with a passion rather than the alternative. All the pizzas are made in a wood-fired oven, so have that rustic look and smokey flavour unique to the traditional oven. We recommend one of their ‘Pizzas with personality’ as they like to call them, theMediteranian is divine but if you want to try something a little different, try the Shark alley!The Beach House is a dine in and take-away restaurant and due to its popularity is usually very busy so it is best to order by phone first.

Perhaps you just want some good old fashioned fish and chips? Easy to eat and who doesn’t love fish and chips? The Original Victor Fish Shop is famous for its crisp chips and fresh fish. People come from far and wide for this very reason! The servings are generous and the oil is always nice and fresh too.
