Sea Dragon and Seahorse Secrets – School Holiday Activity at the Whale Centre @ The SA Whale Centre

Join us at the Whale Centre to learn all about these special related reef animals. Amongst many craft activities, highlights will include creating our very own camouflage oceanic habitat and building a 3D sea creature who glows in the dark. Bookings essential. Limited numbers per session. Tuesday Thursday & Friday each week of the holidays (excludes Christmas Day and New years Day) 2:00pm to 3:00pm.

Tickets $8 per child, and accompanying adults $4.50. Ticket prices for the School Holiday Activity includes standard entry to the SA Whale Centre, which is usually $4.50 for children and $9 for adults. Great value, make an afternoon of it! Full payment is required at time of booking on eventbrite, or bookings can be made directly through the SA Whale Centre by phoning 8551 0750 between 10:00am – 5pm – open 7 days. These programs are recommended for primary school aged children. Children aged 5+ can join these fully supervised sessions without a guardian. Then board the iconic Horse drawn tram to Granite island.

Normanville New Years Eve Pageant @ Normanville Foreshore, Normanville SA

The pageant consists of a parade of approximately 40 colourful floats leaving Katherine Drive at 7.30pm sharp winding its way through the streets of Normanville ending at the beautiful Normanville foreshore. Locals and tourists alike flock to the foreshore to be entertained by a DJ, amusements, and fed by the local community clubs and groups. The night’s festivities are finalised with a fireworks display at around 9.45pm. The pageant provides a fun, safe family environment for the entire community plus the many visitors staying in the area. You are invited to be part of the pageant, whether it be just as a visitor or as a participant contact TJ Marks on 0407 174 262 if you have any queries. The Pageant is a non-profit community organisation run by a very small group of locals, with the District Council of Yankalilla and Yankalilla Foodland providing sponsorship and the remaining funds required to stage the event are raised throughout the year. Look out for the girls in pink collecting for next years Pageant, they will be roaming throughout the parade collecting much needed donations. if you want to help us out with fundraising toss in a few coins or whatever you can afford. Rivergum Homes New Year’s Celebrations @ Warland Reserve

Rivergum Homes New Year’s Eve celebrations attract more than 10,000 spectators enjoying the festivities around Warland Reserve, and over 30,000 locals, families and visitors relaxing along the Victor Harbor foreshore to watch the spectacular fireworks displays.

NYE Off the Bridge Fireworks @ Goolwa Wharf Precinct

Goolwa skies will light up at midnight on New Years Eve to welcome 2019, and celebrate our wonderful community, with a spectacular fireworks display from Hindmarsh Island Bridge.

Locals and visitors to Goolwa are invited to gather at the Goolwa Wharf Precinct, along the waters edge or perhaps even on the river by boat to enjoy the display.

NOTE: Access to Hindmarsh Island will be restricted by both road and walkway between 11pm -12:30am with a total road closure on the bridge from 11.30pm-12.30am. Boats will also be restricted from entering the 4-knot Zone around the bridge between those same times.
