    Wanton, Wild and Unimagined is a playful exhibition of sculptured recycled plastics that stirs the imagination and evokes environmental reflection. Environmental artist Alison McDonald has spent many hours manipulating the humble plastic bottle, and collecting thousands of plastic lids, to make a variety of unimagined and impossible creations inspired by plants, oceans and John Wyndham’s book, The Day of the Triffids.

From bubble cubes and sculptures to bubble rockets and volcanoes, the audience will be enthralled as Marty demonstrates scientific concepts such as iridescence, surface tension and bubble geometry.

    As critical thinkers and coastal dwelling creatives, our responses to the issue of climate change have all coincidentally centred around the intersection between human activity, refuse and the altered natural environments along our beaches, bights and reefs. Artists from Gray Street Workshop have begun touring their exhibition during 2017 and continue the conversation around regional South Australia into 2018. Alexandrina artists are invited to register their interest in developing work to exhibit as part of Solastalgia in 2018.

    The Goolwa Huff n Puff is a 3.5km run or walk versus the Ocsar W paddlesteamer in Goolwa, South Australia on Sunday, 21 October 2018. The Ocsar W will be full steam ahead on the Murray River, racing to the wharf from the Eastern end of Liverpool Road. Runners start with the Oscar W and run the 3.5km to the finish at the wharf. Can your legs beat a paddlesteamer?
