Operations Duty Manager

About This Job

Do you thrive in the background, making things work seamlessly? One minute you’re a tech support hero, the next you’re coordinating a linen drop-off like a logistics boss. If you can pivot like a pro and still smile – read on.

Pet Let is on the lookout for a clever, capable, cool-headed Operations Duty Manager to join our team over two days a week. You’ll be the first line of response when a guest needs help – and the reassuring voice that says, “No worries, I’ve got this.”

This is a remote role (yes, you can work in your trackies), but you’ll be super connected to what’s happening on the ground for our 60+ pet-friendly holiday homes. You’ll troubleshoot guest issues, liaise with contractors, solve mini-crises, and keep the show running smoothly – with full support from our ops team.

Who We Are

Pet Let is a growing holiday rental management business with properties across the Fleurieu Peninsula. We pride ourselves on delivering outstanding guest experiences and providing property owners with peace of mind through professional and reliable management.

We’re looking for a flexible, reliable, and hands-on Operations Duty Manager to join our team. This is a varied subcontractor role that combines administration, property support, rostering, and responsibilities.

What are we looking for?

  • • You live locally – ideally between Encounter Bay and Goolwa.
  • •  You’ve got a basic knack for how homes work: hot water, Wi-Fi, TVs, ACs, power issues – you don’t need to be a tradie, but you get it.
  • •  You’re calm under pressure. (Think: air traffic controller vibes when needed.)
  • •  You’re friendly, helpful, and great on the phone.
  • •  You’re tech-comfy: spreadsheets, chat apps, emails, AI tools – nothing fancy, just functional.
  • •  You want a steady, long-term role where your smarts and reliability really matter.

What You’ll Be Doing

  • • Working two set days a week (to be negotiated), with about 7–10 core hours of computer work, plus being available to jump in when real-time issues arise.
  • Handling incoming calls, texts, and emails from guests and contractors.
  • Making morning check-in calls to guests and following up after issues.
  • Coordinating with cleaners, linen teams, and tradies as needed.
  • Supporting the operations team and keeping things humming.

About You

Our ideal Operations Duty Manager is:

  • Local to the Fleurieu with strong knowledge of the area, towns, and communities.
  • Comes from a hospitality or accommodation background – ideally hotels, resorts, or guest services. Not café or restaurant staff, but people used to manage guests, bookings, and issues in real time.
  • Experienced in admin and customer service, with solid computer skills (email, scheduling, logging issues).
  • Calm under pressure and able to handle stressed or upset guests, triage urgent issues, and keep a cool head.
  • Friendly and approachable – guests and owners trust them, cleaners and contractors find them easy to work with.
  • Adaptable – comfortable shifting from admin work to coordinating trades, and occasionally filling gaps with hands-on help.
  • Looking for long-term stability, not just a stop-gap role.
  • Motivated by lifestyle and flexibility, but serious about commitment.

Values being part of a growing local business and is in it for the long term with opportunities for bolt on work in other areas of the business.
