One of the most decadent and delightful things to do on a holiday is to enjoy a long, lazy and delicious breakfast at a local eatery. Victor Harbor is the largest of the towns on the southern Fleurieu and has the biggest ranges of cafés. Located just 5 minutes from Encounter Bay, 5 minutes from Hayborough and about 7 minutes from Pt Elliot, it is within easy reach of most of our holiday homes.

#1 The Anchorage Hotel

Built in 1910, the heritage listed Anchorage Hotel has been tastefully renovated and upgraded and overlooks the picturesque Encounter Bay.
The Anchorage restaurant/cafe specializes in modern Australian cuisine with an emphasis on fresh regional produce and seafood’s and pours a scrumptious cup of coffee! It is the perfect setting to get lost in history while enjoying a hearty breakfast.

#2 The Boulevard Café on the Lake
Address – 41 Bartel Blvd, Victor Harbor
Just outside the hustle and bustle of Victor Harbor and situated across from the picturesque Encounter Lakes and Baker Reserve is The Boulevard Café on the Lake. It is newly owned and operated by the lovely, Lisa and Chris who never cease to welcome you with a warm smile.
Their delicious breakfast menu includes vegetarian, gluten free and vegan options and their well-known head Chef Simon makes a mean poached egg breakfast too!
They also cater for the kiddies with an entire corner decked out with a lounge suite and a heap of toys to keep the little people occupied while they are waiting. Perfect for sitting back and relaxing with a coffee while the kids play.
Eat inside and browse over the many gifts and treats they have on display or eat outside and enjoy lovely view and the peace and quiet of Encounter Lakes.
This place is a must to check out! You won’t be disappointed.

#3 ‘Belicious’ (Formally known as Two Bees Café)
Address – 1A Ocean Street, Victor Harbor
Owned and operated by Inge and Mario (a lovely Belgian couple) and recently awarded the ‘2016 Certificate of excellence’ award from Trip Adviser, this unassuming little café is one of Victor Harbors little gems. Located in the heart of Victor Harbor it is often described as an ‘amazing little café’ and ‘cosy’.
This only comes secondary to the way the authentic Belgian food is described… “as good as it gets!”, “Amazingly good Belgian food” and “The food is excellent!”. A great place to start the morning off for breakfast before exploring all that beautiful Victor Harbor has to offer.

Overlooking the beautiful Warland Reserve in central Victor Harbor is Café Bavaria. This German/Australian Café is locally owned by Regan and Melissa who have stopped at nothing to create a warm and welcoming atmosphere for their guests.
Their many 5 star reviews speak for themselves! Tuck into a German Mixed Grill for breakfast or a Knackwurst Sausage paired with one of their seriously good coffees while watching the world go by in this beautiful part of Victor Harbor.
